How to get the perfect bridal summer glow

Updated: May 20

It’s been a long time coming, but the weather is finally starting to perk up and show us a bit of sunshine. This summer, there will be thousands of brides gearing up for their weddings, many of whom may have postponed from last year. Despite this, it’s full steam ahead for the wedding industry, and I’m ready to deck out my brides with the most beautiful wedding looks I can muster.

For those and coming summer brides, I know it’s the ‘lit from within’ glow that you want to achieve for your special day. You’ll glow naturally with excitement and anticipation of walking down the aisle, but you can give yourself a little glowy boost with my tips below.

Remove any dullness Exfoliation is an excellent way to brighten up a dull complexion and to smooth the surface of your skin. I would recommend a good exfoliation once a week, as you don’t want to irritate or harm your delicate skin. The Paula’s Choice Liquid Exfoliant removes built-up dead skin cells and fights blackheads, leaving your skin smooth and fresh.

Radiate natural beauty

Light pinks, barely-there nudes and coppers and rosy cheeks create a beautifully, uncomplicated naturally glowing look. A small swipe of highlighter in the inner eye adds a real pop. I love the Charlotte Tilbury Golden Glow Wand at the moment!

Hydrate and Moisturise Hydrated skin is SO important; moisturised skin will give you a plumper, healthy glow. A cult favourite, try Youth to the People’s Air Whip Moisture Cream - the whipped gel-cream texture employs a wealth of vitamins with hyaluronic acid to pep-up and hydrate dull, tired skin.

Sunkissed skin

Makeup doesn’t need to just be for the face! With some cleverly applied bronzer to shoulders, collarbones and chest, you can achieve an incredibly radiant glow. I use Summer Fridays Pool Time Glowing Oil for a flattering, natural finish to get glowing, healthy skin that dazzles in the sunlight.

Dewy glow

You don’t need a heavy base to achieve a good glow. A buildable, tinted moisturiser offers a light alternative - Charlotte Tilbury’s Healthy Glow is known as “summer in a bottle”. Adding a fantastic highlighter such as Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Skinstick pulls it all together. Water and Sleep! Whilst you may not need to be rushing around and going to bed super early if you’re not having to get up in the morning, it’s still so, so important to get enough sleep, and supplement this with more water than you think you need - your body will thank you for it! Before bed, apply Estée Lauder Night Repair - just a few drops will replenish skin and leave it feeling younger-looking and restored by morning.

I hope these tips help you achieve your summer bridal glow, before and after your wedding!

Love,

Ellie x
